Calgary Bankruptcy Trustee
Karen is a graduate from Memorial University of Newfoundland and started her career in the insolvency industry in St. John's where she spent the next 17 years working exclusively for the insolvency group of a multi national accounting firm. Karen has extensive experience in all aspects of personal bankruptcy filings as well as a background in receivership, corporate bankruptcy and financial restructuring including business reviews, proposals and CCAA filings.
In 1997 Karen relocated to Alberta with her family and spent a couple of years with one of the "Big Five" firms at a First Nations Reserve, returning to Calgary in the firm's Corporate office assisting on a large CCAA file and closing the personal bankruptcy practice.
In 1999, Karen returned to the practice which held her passion: assisting individuals with personal financial problems.
Karen obtained her Trustee License in 2003 and joined Alger & Associates Inc. in 2007. She is a Vice President, Senior Manager with the firm and is responsible for overseeing two of the four Calgary offices.
