About ten years ago my husband and I filed for bakruptcy. Two years ago he passed away and left me with some credit card bills. I now pay a very high rent and have credit card bills of my own that I just cannot pay.

Yes, a person can file more than one bankruptcy provided they have been Absolutely discharged from the previous one(s).
