Question:   Can bankruptcy stay with you for the rest of your life? For example, every time you want to buy something on credit will it pop up that you have filed bankruptcy? Is there a solution for the person who has filed?

Answer:

When you file bankruptcy, it is reported at the credit bureau. Anything reported there will be on the record for seven years. It is then wiped off. However, the bankruptcy is always a record at the court house and at the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, but very few creditors would ever check there.
