Question:

I am married and I may be losing my job in the near future. If I declare bankruptcy because I have no income, is my husband's income affected? What if we have shared debt?

Answer:

If you file for bankruptcy your husband will not be affected unless he has cosigned any of your debts or has a secondary credit card. He will still be liable to pay any debts under his name.
