My boyfriend was behind on his tax returns, and we filed an
adjustment to previous year returns. The money for the refund should be
in anytime, however he has had to claim bankruptcy in the meantime. The
money is supposed to be deposited into a joint account, is he going to
get the money? If he does, does it need to be reported? Also, is there
anything that they can do regarding the joint account as far as freezing
it?

If the refund is not in before your boyfriend makes the assignment then
it belongs to the bankruptcy estate and must be turned over to the
Trustee if it isn't sent to the Trustee directly by the government.
There is no reason why your joint account should be frozen or closed
unless your boyfriend owes money to the bank where the account is held.
If he does, the bank may no longer want him as a customer.
