I claimed bankruptcy in 1996 and at the time a seven
year wait is what I was told. Is there something I can do now to have this discharged? What is the procedure? Is it still a seven year wait? Please give direction.

The credit bureau lists all entries for seven years. Bankruptcy is one of them. You do not have to do anything as it should fall off at the end of the seven years.
