From my past marriage I have debts of around 12K and cannot
afford to pay them back with the minimum wage job I have. I have been
advised by companies to file for bankcruptcy and I would like to know
how you go about this, how much it costs, pros and cons etc.

To file for bankruptcy you need to use the services of a Trustee, who is
licensed to help you through the process. To obtain information specific
to your circumstances, the options available to you, the cost to you
personally and the pros and cons for you, you are best advised to make
an appointment for a free consultation with a Trustee. They will explain
what you need to know. You can call Collins Barrow in Alberta at
310-8888 or find a Trustee in the Yellow Pages under "Bankruptcy". Our
website at www.moneyhelp.ca also has general information on personal
bankruptcy/insolvency.
