Question:

I recently applied for a secured credit card and was told that I had an undischarged bankruptcy. What exactly does this mean?

Answer:

Occasionally the credit reporting agencies report incorrect or incomplete information. If you received a discharge from bankruptcy you must notify the bureaus to correct the wrong information. If you are an undischarged bankrupt, however, it means you didn't complete your duties and receive a discharge from your debts. To finish the bankruptcy and be discharged, you must contact your Trustee.
