My husband claimed bankrupcy and has been discharged.
I thought we were told that only half of our bills would be my
responsibility. Since we are now in a position to pay some bills, I wanted
to know how much I have to pay. Is it all of the money owing or only half?

Generally, when you obtain credit you agree to a "joint and several
liability", which means both of you are responsible for the full amount of
the debt. If your husband has filed for bankruptcy then creditors can pursue
you for the full amount owing on the debts that you had together. It may be
worthwhile to offer your creditors a settlement on the debt if you cannot
pay the entire amount. If necessary, you may also need to consider doing a
bankruptcy or a proposal.
