Question:

My spouse and I are in the process of a divorce. My spouse wants to file bankruptcy on pre-marrital debt and half of the debt that he will have to pay in the divorce. Can this be done and not affect myself? I have filed bankruptcy about 5 years ago and I am not willing to do it again.

If your husband files for bankruptcy you will liable for the full amount of debts that have your name on them. Please refer to the section entitled Is Bankruptcy Going to Affect my Spouse? on this website.
