What if you declare bankruptcy and before you are discharged you have problems with collectors for new bills you are having trouble with?

Answer:   Bankruptcy stays creditors from pursuing you for pre-bankruptcy debts. Any debts incurred after the bankruptcy date are new debts and you must pay them. Your Trustee can advise you how best to handle the collectors.
