Question:   I owe $72,000 to unsecured creditors. I have a very good job in the banking business. Can I lose my job if I can make a proposal to my creditors? Some people say I can no longer be bondable. Need advice and need to breathe. Thank you. I live in NB if it makes any difference.

Answer:

Whether bankruptcy affects your employment will depend on your employer and their policies. There is nothing in the Bankruptcy Act that will affect you. As far as I am aware, you are still bondable if you file bankruptcy.

You should contact a Trustee in your area to attend a free assessment of your financial situation.
