I am thinking about bankruptcy and was woundering how does the payment thing work with the trustee? Do they take an automatic deposit out of you account every month? If you earn a little extra like 100.00 over the surplus amount allowed, how much of that do they take, if any of it? How much money do they allow you per month for food for a 3 person family? Do you do monthly cheques or how does that work?

The Superintendent Standard amount for a family of 3 is $2,554 net income. Generally, half of the income above this amount is paid to the Trustee during the bankruptcy. Payment can be made each month by cheque, money order or cash. We have no ability to take automatic payments from your bank account. Your Trustee can work out a plan that suits you.
