Question:

Can you tell me what the difference is between companies that you file bankruptcy with? There are just so many out there. Is there some better than others or is there some stuff that some of them do that you have to watch out for?

Answer:

There may be some small differences between Trustee office procedures but all Trustees are licensed by the Government and administer the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, which is Federal legislation. As licensed Trustees it is difficult for us to comment on our competitors.

We recommend you find a Trustee with whom you feel comfortable. The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy with Industry Canada can give you additional information about how to choose a Trustee. You can find their number in the Canadian Government section, Blue Pages, in the phone book.
