I am currently have debts in the 20,000 range.I have made arrangements through a Consumer Credit counselling organization in B.C.and have been making making payments consistently.Last year a group in the U.S. claims I owe them about 2500.00 U.S.I have been paying as much as I can.I do housework as part of my income and have lost a number of small jobs over the course of the last year.The U.S. company has turned this over to a collection agency.Can a company in the U.S. sue me if I am in Canada?Should I just file for bankruptcy?

Yes, a U.S. creditor can sue you through the Canadian courts if they choose. If you are unable to continue the Credit Counselling program with this other debt then bankruptcy may be an option for you.
