Question:

I was repaying my debts through Alberta Credit Counselling, but during this I became single and couldn't keep up. This led to missed payments and me finally being kicked of the orderly repayment plan. What can I do now? These are student loans and I know I can't bankrupt them, but I can't exactly pay them either. At least not what the creditors would like. Please help, the stress is going to kill me.

My first suggestion is to talk to Credit Counselling Services if you haven't already. They may be able to set you up on a new program you can afford.

If they are unable to help you, I would suggest you talk to a Trustee re: your options. They will offer a free consultation to help you work through your concerns.

To obtain a free assessment, you should contact a Trustee in your area by looking in the yellow pages under "Bankruptcy".

If you have any further questions or want to come in for a free assessment to our office, please call or email me using the information below.
