Question:   Part of my student loans are in collections and the other part are still being covered by Interest Relief. I have accumulated a lot of other debt which may be going to collection agencies. My question is..if I claim bankruptcy, what debts (in the collection agencies, if any) will be covered by bankruptcy?

Student loans will survive a bankruptcy if you have left school in the last ten years. Your other debt should be dischargeable. These situations are complicated, so we always suggest you see a Trustee for an assessment.

To obtain a free assessment of your financial concerns, you should contact a Trustee in your area by looking in the yellow pages under "Bankruptcy".
