My son and his wife filed and it was declared in October 1993 on 2 student loans! My question is this, they have had to be turned down for new homes and money was taken out of their checks weekly. Why, when they paid to have bankrupcy on the student loans?

Your son and his wife should provide a copy of their Absolute Order of Discharge or Certificate of Discharge to the collection agency or the government loan department to show that the student loan was discharged. If they did not complete the bankruptcy and receive a discharge then they are likely still liable for the debt. In that case they should contact their Trustee to complete the process.
