I have already filed for a divorce, but I just found
out that my husband has filed bankruptcy. We did not have any joint
accounts except for a checking account for a short time. He has over
$40,000 in credit card debt all incurred before we were married. Will I be responsible? Will this hurt my credit standing?

In Canada, unless you have a spousal credit card or have also signed for the debts, you are not liable for your ex-husbands debts. His bankruptcy should not affect you or your credit rating.
