Question:   I have moved to Canada from the United States, and now I'm having trouble making payment on my American debts. I'm working now, but I find that the exchange rate has effectively increased my debt load.

You may want to explain the situation to your U.S. creditors and work out a different payment plan with them, based on Canadian dollars. Including U.S. debt in a Canadian bankruptcy or proposal will not necessarily fully discharge the debt. You should contact a Trustee in your area to attend a free assessment of your financial situation and options.
