Question:

My few assets (including a house) are all in Manitoba yet I recently moved to Alberta to stay permanently. The guidelines for what can be kept or what must be seized by trustee is different in both provinces. Which one would apply to me? Alberta? or Manitoba?

Answer:

If you now live in Alberta then the Alberta exemptions apply. If the house is in Manitoba and you live here you cannot claim an exemption for it.
