Question:

I have been discharged from bankruptcy for approximately 3 years. My financial and business situation has improved significantly, such that now I am in a position to set up my own holding company for certain investment/business activities in which I am involved. I have been searching the net trying to find out what bearing personal bankruptcy has on incorporating a company in Alberta, particularly if I will be the sole shareholder and director;however I have been unable to locate any specifics. Please advise. Thank you for your assistance.

I don't believe that your previous bankruptcy should have any effect on incorporating a limited company. It is only while you are an undischarged bankrupt that you cannot be a director. If you'd like confirmation or information about incorporating you may want to talk to a lawyer who specializes in corporate law.
