We moved from Ontario to northern Alberta. Finding it very expensive to live. We are falling behind on several bills. We do pay off the major bills, mortgage, van loan, however, some bills each month go unpaid. Which is getting worse each month. I am starting to work in a couple of days which should help. I can't get a loan anywhere, not enough equity in the house. I did contact the credit cousellers however, because of my van loan, which is a secured credit. If I did go with dpp program, I wouldn't have enough money for other stuff. What should I do next?

Your next step would be to talk to a Trustee about a proposal or a bankruptcy. If there isn't enough money to pay living expenses and creditors you'll need help dealing with your debts. Most Trustees such as Alger and Associates Inc. (formerly Collins Barrow Limited) offer a free consultation where your situation is reviewed and options discussed. To reach us in Alberta please call toll-free 310-8888.
