12 years following a bankruptcy, I have been asked to allow a credit check for employment purposes? What information will be included in such a report? Currently my credit is fine and I have never missed any payments. Does the bankruptcy appear in my credit history at this point?

The credit bureau advises us that a first-time bankruptcy remains on a credit record for 6 years after the discharge is granted (14 for subsequent bankruptcies.) If you are concerned about what is on your credit record I would suggest you obtain a copy. Information on how to do so can be found under Credit Rating on this website.
