I am considering filing bankruptcy in February 2005. Part of my debt is a healthy student loan I have carried around for about 7 years now. I would like to know when in 2005 will the decision be made about changing the canadian personal bankruptcy law towards erasing student loan debt from 10 years to 5 years? Thank you.

I'd suggest you ask your Member of Parliament when or if the bill with amendments to bankruptcy legislation is likely to be heard in the House of Commons and Senate.
