Question:

Can you please tell me when you surf the Web at the Superintendent of Bankruptcy site they tell you that you should send your absolute to them als, and also to Revenue Canada. What is the reason for this and why wouldn't the trustee tell you that? I had received a temporary discharge in March of last year and made final payment to the trustee in December of 2004, I did my bankruptcy return last year. Should it take very long now for the trustee discharge? Thank you.

Answer:

The Trustee sends a copy of your discharge to the Superintendents office and they forward the information to Canada Revenue Agency. You should not have to do it as well.

I cannot comment on the discharge of the Trustee as I do not know the particulars of the file.
