I am in the middle of bankruptcy. I would like info on how to get a loan after it's over.

After bankruptcy you will have to work to re-establish your credit rating. You can save some money, say $1000, go to the bank and offer to put the money on deposit if they give you a loan. You then pay back the loan and ask the bank to give you a favorable credit rating. You can also obtain a credit card in the same way.

You will not want to approach a lot of banks as the requests may be reported at the credit bureau and you don't want it to look like you are asking everyone for money.

Also, in Alberta, you can assume a mortgage from the current owners without having to qualify. Once you have paid on the mortgage for a year or two, you will be establishing a good rating with that mortgage company.
