Question:  

I'm in the process of going Bankrupt and I would like to ask a few questions.

  1. Will I be able to take out a student loan once I go bankrupt?
  2. Will I be able to keep my American Express card?
  3. Can they take my car that I own?

Answer:  
  1. You may or may not be able to obtain a Canada Student Loan once you are bankrupt. You should contact Student Loans to determine whether you would be eligible.
  2. You cannot keep your American Express or any other credit card in bankruptcy.
  3. The value of the car and any encumbrances on the vehicle will determine whether or not you can keep it. Your Trustee will advise you once he/she knows the details.
