I would like to file for bankruptcy immediately and I would like to know if during the next several months - while my bankruptcy is in progress - another party like Revenue Canada can come after me. I ask this because they are currently auditing me and I suspect they will be hitting me with a bill. Do I need to need to file for protection from them specifically from the start or will I be protected when that time comes?

If you make the assignment into bankruptcy now, any debts that relate to the period before the day you file are covered. That would include whatever debt arises from the audit by Revenue Canada. You'll need to list them as a creditor on your documents.
