Question:

I was just wondering if a person files bankruptcy if it affects them getting a government grant for schooling due to loss of job. Also, if me and my husband are both on all of our loans do we both have to file or can just one of us? He is always the borrower and I am the co borrower.

Answer:   If both you and your husband are responsible for the debts then the creditors can pursue either of you. If he files bankruptcy, they can then look to you for payment,

With respect to the grant, there are so many different grants and rules, you should directly with the agency giving him the grant as so whether bankruptcy will affect it.
