Do you have to sell a mortgaged house and a car you are making
payments on if you were to claim bankrupcy? I have a few other debts that are the ones causing me grief. If I did not have them and only had the house and car payment I would be fine.

Bankruptcy affects unsecured debts. Generally, you can keep a mortgaged
house and car if the secured creditor allows you to keep paying, which
they usually do.
