Question:

If I enter into a consumer proposal and all the terms are accepted by my creditors, will it appear on my Equifax credit report that I have paid these bills once I have met all my requirements? Thank you.

Answer:   We have been advised that a consumer proposal should show up on your credit record as an R7 and be reflected as a proposal/settlement for 3 years after completion. If you'd like additional information please contact either Equifax at 1-800-465-7166 or Trans Union at 1-800-801-3619. As the Credit Reporting Agencies, they can advise you of their policies.
