Question:

I am thinking about claiming bankruptcy. I have life insurance through my employer - I pay the premiums every month. If I was to claim bankruptcy are the insurance providers contacted and in turn the employer is contacted? Is there any way that the employer can be left out of the loop?

Answer:   If the life insurance policy is coverage only through your employer and you don't own the policy, the Trustee doesn't usually contact the provider. There is also no reason why your employer should be contacted.
