Question:   My wife was a victim of a bank scam to which she ended up having to pay back to the bank $45,000. Our account was a joint account so now the bank has started to garnishee my wages. They are allowing me to keep $1000. per month....our rent alone is $950. Is it in my best interest to file for bankrupcy? Will they come after me again after I am discharged?

If your debt is discharged in the bankruptcy, your creditors cannot pursue you for payment by garnisheeing. Your situation sounds a little complicated so you should contact a Trustee in your area to attend a free assessment of your financial situation.
