Question:

I will be discharged from my bankruptcy on June 2, 2005. My question is this, how long after I get discharged can I go on a mortgage? My partner is planning on selling her house and getting a bigger house and I want to use my income as addition income to help her get approved for a bigger mortgage. Will going bankrupt cause her to be delined, I want my income to count even if I am not on the mortgage directly? Thanks, Jamie.

Answer:

You can apply for a mortgage anytime. Whether or not a mortgage company will approve you is the question. I'd suggest you talk to a mortgage broker.
