Question:   I am going through a divorce and my husband has been gone for a year and has maxed all the cards. I am living in the house and making all the mortgage payments and paying all the bills. He said I will lose the house and my car and my snow mobile when he files for bankruptcy. What can I do?

Answer:

If the assets belong to you as well as your husband, his bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean you will lose the assets. There are several possible scenarios depending on who is on the debt and assets and I'd suggest you contact your husband's Trustee directly to discuss your situation.
