I am 22 years old and have dug myself a huge hole of debt, about $35,000. It gets more and more difficult to pay the bills each month and I was wondering what I can do to prepare to file and what I will lose. I have a car and some personal posessions that I do not want to lose and I'm not sure of how I will be affected by filing

In Alberta, a bankrupt is allowed to keep household goods and clothing, as well as a vehicle if it's equity is $5,000 or less. The easiest way to find out about bankruptcy and your other options is to see a Trustee. Most Trustees, including Collins Barrow, offer a free and confidential initial consultation where your situation is reviewed, and the bankruptcy process as it would relate to that situation is explained to you. You could then make an informed decision about the best financial
solution for you.
