My wife had a credit card from work in the company name and her name. It cost us 15,000.00 for a loan to pay it off. The company gave her another one only after the credit card company made her sign saying she would use it for company use only . Of course this did not happen and we borrowed 10,000.00 more, but still owe 4,000.00 to the credit company.

My wife quit this job a year ago and can't pay the credit company and they said they are getting a judgement against her and will take her personal belongings and house (no equity after sales commisions).Can they do this, just walk in and take everything? or are they trying to intimidate us? Why are they not going after the company that she worked for and which gave her the card?

If a creditor takes you to court and gets a judgement, they can use this to seize assets or garnishee wages or a bank account.

If they have both parties as signing authorities on the card, they can pursue which ever party they wish.
