Question:   I am wondering how much money you are allowed to make per month during bankruptcy when both you and your spouse are filing. We also have 2 dependent children.

Also is this amount different in BC than Alberta?

Answer:   The Superintendent of Bankruptcy has established guidelines for the amount of after tax income that a bankrupt is entilted to keep. This amount is adjusted for the number of dependents and other special circumstances. If you go to visit a trustee, your income and circumstances will be reviewed and the Trustee will review with you what your payments should be. Right now, one guideline is being applied accross Canada.
