Question:   I work for a company and also have my own registered company. If I declare bankruptcy do I have to close down my company?

Answer:  

Under the Alberta Business Corporations Act you cannot be a director of a company if you are bankrupt. The company may be able to continue to operate, however, you would need to discuss this with your Trustee in greater detail.
