Question:

Hi, I have just filed bankruptcy and I have a vehicle which I am filing on also. My question is how long do ya have before you have to give the vehicle back to the bank or before they can repo it? I'm trying hard to come up with the money for a work vehicle before I lose it. Thank you much.

Answer:

You need to talk to your trustee to determine if the trustee has verified the security and released their interest in the vehicle. After that, it will be up to you to deal directly with the vehicle financier and make the best deal you can for time and payment of arrears.
