Question:

I have lots of debt and collection agencies are after me. Nothing really major, things like past bills, bank overdrafts, and the big one is I owe sfi (social services) $1300. I am never going to be able to repay this so I should apply for bankrupcy right or I will never have good credit again and someday I would like to have a credit card.

Answer:

Bankruptcy may be an option if you are unable to pay your debts as well as your ongoing living expenses. I'd suggest you meet with a Trustee to discuss your situation and options.
