Question:

I am trying to obtain employment in the banking industry again and wonder if a past bankruptcy will affect my being considered for this. Am I still bondable if everything was final with my banruptcy for over 7 years? Do I still need to declare past bankruptcy if it no longer shows on my credit report?

Answer:

The fact that you have been bankrupt is a matter of permanent public record which can be determined with a simple search. It would be unwise to not disclose a prior bankruptcy if asked. Bonding is a matter of choice for each bonding company, but I believe you would be bondable. The same comment goes for employers. Each employer will make its own decision regarding your suitability and a past bankruptcy will be one more factor for them to consider.
