Question:

I'm currently on the OPD program, making my payments religously every two weeks. I am considering leaving my job to pursue another one, the only downfall is that I would be making less money and would not be able to continue on the OPD program, and would claim bankruptcy. This new job would allow me to work from home, would there be any concerns with claiming bankruptcy, and still being able to write off expenses for taxes such as Internet use, electricity, and house gas bills when working from your home and declaring bakruptcy. Thank you for response in advance.

Answer:

There should be no concern at all in this regard. You are entitled to the same deductions from income to arrive at taxable income whether in bankruptcy or not.
