Thanks for your answer. I have one more question then. Since she filed bankruptcy in August but this money (the $2000) was from January to December. So will the trustee be entitled to keep the excess child tax credit fir Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun and July? (Since she hadn't filed yet).

Answer:

 

I think what you are asking is whether or not CTC accruing outside the bankruptcy period but paid during bankruptcy will have to be taken into account when determining surplus. If that is your question, the answer is yes.
