Question:

Me and my ex husband have been divorced for a year now. And he wants to file bantkruptcy. In the divorce decree it dosen't say who pays for the the debts. So that problem stayed open. I don't believe that I co-signed on any of the debts. Can the creditors come after me? Although we are divorced and I never co-signed on anything, is that considered joint property?

Answer:

Your debts are yours and your ex's are his generally unless you have signed something to commit otherwise. Be careful however for if you have had a credit card as a supplementary card holder, you will likely be liable if you have used the card, even once.
