Question:

In 2001, I filed for bankrupcy with my then-husband. Since then, we have been divorced. No payments were ever made to our trustee. I have relocated several times also. Will I or can I ever be discharged? If I were to face up to the trustee, what should I expect? I would like to know how to fix the past if at all possible. Can you advise please?

Answer:

You will most certainly not be discharged, however your creditors might have had their rights reinstated. You should contact your former trustee as soon as you can and see how much money he will need to reopen the file and what you must do to get your discharge.
