Question:

I have been disabled since 2000 and the income support I receive does not help to pay bills. My wife has been taking care of me since I have become disabled. Our finances have gone critical and we are unable to pay alot of bills. Do you think that going bankrupt will help my situation?

Answer:

There are provisions in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act which provide relief for persons in your situation. You should sit down and talk to a qualified trustee who can give you insight into all the options that are a available to you. These options should include a discussion of those alternatives available to you beyond what is offered by the BIA.
