Question:

When applying for a new job , and you know that the employer will do a credit check, when is the appropriate time to inform the employer about the bankruptcy and how should this be addressed?

Answer:

In Canada, a first time bankruptcy remains on your credit record for 6 years after you are discharged. Therefore, you should expect that your employer will fine out about a bankruptcy until you have been discharged for at least 6 years.

As for telling him, I leave the timing up to you.
