Question:

I am engaged and have a joint checking account with my fiance. I am planning on filing bankruptcy before we get married. Will that affect our joint account? Should I take my name off before I declare? I know that I will need to have my account statements with me, this will show his deposits and debits also, I'm not sure how that will work. Thanks.

Answer:

You may want to consider operating your own account rather than having one joint with him.
